Tushingham The Wedge

It's the most radical sail in the collection with a very different feel to the Ken Black 'norm'. The Wedge is optimised for instant response above outright performance. The striking lightweight design features shorter boom lengths, more pre-cut fullness in the lower sections and a special luff curve that allows the sail to twist efficiently with low downhaul loads. This reduces top end control but gives an instant response for acceleration into radical moves, at the same time de-powering immediately when the sail is sheeted out. More downhaul can be applied if required, which will give the control needed in higher winds and more demanding conditions. A very specialised design, the Wedge offers perfect control for the freestyle sailor. Freestyling appeals particularly to the younger sailor which is why the range now extends down to include a 4.6m size.
