Description
The Carves are Starboard’s pure freeride boards. Freeriding is windsurfing’s most popular segment, where weekend windsurfers enjoy high-speed runs in and out, planing carve jibes on both ends and exciting sensations whilst staying in the zone of comfort and control. The Carves are always easy to tune and ride. They deliver their best performance, all the time. Exciting, fun and light to ride, they always remain controllable, comfortable and forgiving: they are the plug and play freeriders

Design and Performance
With the all-new 2012 Carve 111, 121, 131 and 141, plug and play has never offered so much speed and performance in such a forgiving and comfortable
package. To top it off, the Carve’s new shapes offer a massive wind range. They take the plug and play concept to a new level.
The four new shapes benefit from wider and thinner shapes that extend the board’s low-end power, top end control, early planing abilities and overall
efficiency.
The 121, 131 and 141 also integrate a new tail cut away design developed by Jean Louis Colmas in New Caledonia. His new
cut-away design adds some liveliness and top end speed to make the Carve the perfect blend.
What’s new?
• New 111, 121, 131, 141 outlines – wider, thinner
• New 121, 131, 141 tail cut-aways – livens up the board for an exciting and faster ride
• New flagship Carbon option
“I was testing the new 2012 Carves against the 2010/2011 models. I could not believe what I felt. It felt like there was a five
year gap in development time. The difference is just incredible.“ Jean Louis Colmas, original Starboard shaper and inventor of
Wood Technology, contributing designer and tester.
“Plug and play has never covered such a wide wind range. The level of control, forgiveness and comfort in rough conditions is
mind-blowing. Add the ability to put larger sails and plane earlier than anyone else, and this board will leave any other classic
freerider behind.” Tiesda You, Starboard brand manager and board designer.
“The new Carves are a lot faster than the previous generation. By really a lot. We will need to test them against the Futura now,
and I will not be surprised if they are as fast. I’m confident that with these new models, we have a board that is faster, more
easy, earlier-planing and more comfortable than before – and by a big margin.” Remi Vila, lead designer for the new 2012 Carves
