THE SPICE

Starboard designers made the Spice to offer more performance and progression than the Wedge series, while being more user-friendly, accessible and forgiving than the Pro.

The board is both ultra-responsive and easy due to the unique bevelled rails, in which with the slightest foot pressure, the board just rolls in the direction you want to go. The rails are super fine both in the nose and tail, reducing swing weight through your turns and giving you direct response when applying pressure on the tail.

The Spice can handle a range of conditions and wave performances as it was developed in Portugal with shaper Luis “Lacrau” where it was put to test by a number of riders in a range of conditions from small beach breaks to overhead point breaks. Featuring design elements such as bevelled thin rails, wing tail and concave bottom shape, this board works in harmony, giving you a ride that syncs speed, power and flow.

8’2” x 30.75” – This model was Trevor Tunnington’s favourite model during the development in Portugal. Suitable for riders 80-95kg, this size is easy to paddle yet reacts on a dime from the thin bevelled rails. Fast, stable and on point, the performance defies its size.

8’8” x 32” – At 139L, the 8’8” is sure to be a favourite among riders that want to save energy and maximise surf time. Expected to be a popular size for most riders around 95-115kg due to the generous stability with the 32” width. Long enough to get you into waves, yet compact for you to whip around fit into sections without your nose catching through turns.

9’3” x 32.75” – The largest in the range and designed to be the most stable option for heavier riders between 100-130kg. Glide easily to catch waves and pickup good speed to quickly paddle back out to catch another ride with the longer length. At 32.75” wide, the board has plenty of stability to accommodate heavy paddlers or if you just want an ultra-stable ride.

Surf and flat water

This amazing allround blade suits anyone from World wave rider champion Zane Schweitzer to entry level flat water paddling. The direct, powerful and extra precise paddle shape with deep side concaves gets you from zero to hero.

The wide lower part helps create a maximum efficiency area even if your stroke is not yet deep enough into the water. That wide lower part is also great to learn on for stability in the waves and has won 3 world titles in the last 2 years.

The Enduro is direct in the water, the first catch feels incredibly precise and powerful. Increased cadence due to a smoother waterflow and also great to lean on while wave riding.

Low aspect design makes it easy to lift out of the water with each stroke and also great to lean on while wave riding.
