LONGBOARD – CLASSIC STYLE, MODERN CONSTRUCTION

Starboard Longboard won the SUP Boarder high-performance award, as it’s versatile to ride in all conditions, incredibly responsive and smooth to turn.

The low volume thinned out rails allows you to easily engage with minimal foot pressure, giving you control down the wave face and hold through steeper sections of the wave. The parallel outline provides a smooth fast glide, while the full nose gives enough float and stability for you to ride toes on the nose. The diamond tail and moderate tail kick makes it very responsive for you to whip the board around easily through bottom and top turns.

With our longboard you can handle 1-foot small beach breaks and head high reef breaks, an awesome 1 board quiver. Available in 4 sizes from 9’0”x26” to 10’0”x31” and 3 technologies, including the Limited series, so you can match your skill level and rider weight.

What are the features to the LONGBOARD?

Outline – Parallel straight outline in the mid-point provides a smooth fast glide that is easy to trim on the board. Narrow diamond tail is extremely reactive in bottom turns. Fuller nose outline gives you enough float and stability to ride toes on the nose for classic longboard styling.

Rocker – Gradual nose kick ensures you have a smooth take off into waves without pearling. Relatively flat midsection gives you speed feeding into moderate tail kick for responsive turning.

Bottom shape – Defined double concave from the nose through until a distinct vee at the tail. Prominent double concave mid-section allows you to roll the board on its rail effortlessly to turn direction from the standing area. Pronounced vee tail makes turning very crisp and reactive, essential for fast bottom turns and off the top.

Rails – Low volume thinned out rails is fundamental in performance. Thin rails help you easily engage with minimal foot pressure, giving you control down the wave face and hold through steeper sections of the wave.
The low volume rails make it ultra-responsive and sensitive for you to turn direction with speed and control. The flat deck improves your stability and makes transitioning effortless from rail to rail allowing for drawn out carves and cutbacks.

Construction – Both Blue Carbon and Starlite models feature special reinforced layup with T-stringers and lightweight UD Carbon to stiffen the board and increase the overall strength needed from the thin profile.

Fin Position – After testing multiple positions, we chose to place the side fins very close to the rail. This enables carving with precision and hold through turns, while the centre fin position gives tracking and drive.

Fin Set Up – 185 centre fin and 4.5” proved to be the most preferred combination of drive and tracking. For more tracking, a larger centre fin can be used.

What size LONGBOARD is right for me?

9’0” x 26” – a nimble weapon for high skilled and lightweight riders up to 75kg. Narrower width helps fit in more critical sections of the waves, generates faster speeds down the line and is ultra-reactive to foot pressure. Features a  unique concave nose for long nose riding.

9’0” x 28” – is suited for lighter riders that want faster and reactive manoeuvrability.

10’0” x 29” – carries more glide and speed from the longer length. The 29” width provides a wider platform with greater stability for heavier riders.

10’0” x 31” – offering more volume and float for heavier riders up to 110kg. The added thickness in the standing and wider width makes for a super stable ride, yet with the same bite and response that make this model perform so well.
