RECENT CHANGES - A NEW FUSELAGE AND MAST SYSTEM
Hydrofoiling is a rapidly evolving sport and the Naish development team is always working hard to stay at the front edge of development. Over the past year, the biggest changes have been the universal acceptance of high aspect foils, and the expansion of the sport (especially winging) into the air with the inevitable hard landings and crashes. Both yield a dramatic increase in structural loading, so the Naish team took a thorough look at every aspect of our system.
Naish’s industry leading Indexed Scarf Joint (ISJ) is fully up to the task (unlike many other brands who have been forced to change their front wing connection), but our analysis suggested a comprehensive redesign of the mast/fuselage connection. Once we committed to a redesign, we also took the opportunity to improve functionality in areas beyond just increased strength.
THE NEW DESIGN DETAILS:
•Increased strength and durability to match the new load models
•Kept weight to a bare minimum
•Improved ease of assembly by going to (2)X M8 screws instead of (3)X M6
•Integrated a corrosion barrier between the carbon and aluminum masts and the aluminum fuselage

2022 ALUMINIUM MASTS
The new Naish alloy mast features an updated 6061 aircraft grade aluminium extrusion that is nearly 25% stronger with only a nominal weight increase due to a new section architecture that puts more wall thickness at key buckling areas while maintaining the same exterior dimensions and low drag shape of the S26 mast.
The new extrusion features a new bonded and screwed board mount (2x M8 and sex bolt) for a rock solid connection. The mast directly connects to the fuselage with 2 M8 screws and uses a molded fuselage connector that functions as a corrosion barrier.
S26 ALUMINIUM MASTS - NOT NOW IN CIRCULATION AS HAVE BEEN GIVE A FREE UPGRADE (MAST AND NEW FUSELAGE ADAPTION)
This mast utilizes the new high strength extrusion and screwed/bonded board connection plate, and features a bonded/screwed fuselage connection that seamlessly interfaces with S26 and older Naish fuselages.
CARBON 35 MASTS
The new Naish C35 monocoque composite mast with it’s integral molded base features 35% UD carbon content and strikes the perfect balance of technology reduces drag dramatically. Corrosion issues are completely eliminated thanks to (2)12 mm stainless steel inserts laminated into the mast structure and paired with our molded fuselage connector that acts as a corrosion barrier.
CARBON 100 MASTS
The new Naish C100 monocoque carbon mast is our most technologically advanced offering to date. Featuring 100% carbon construction that comprises a blend of 3K and UD, this mast features industry leading bending and torsional rigidity for a ‘direct drive’ feel and maximum control, light weight thanks to a, dual expanding foam core, and a low drag section optimized for speed and control. Corrosion issues are completely eliminated thanks to (2)12 mm stainless steel inserts laminated into the mast structure and paired with our molded fuselage connector that acts as a corrosion barrier.
