Starboard Generation SUP 2023
GENERATION – AHEAD OF THE REST
The GO TO 3in1; Touring, Racing and Surfing. The Generation is the ultimate one board quiver and subsequently is our best-selling model, with Supboarder Magazine claiming that “every paddler needs a board like the Generation”.
A true 3in1, the Generation offers so much to all types of a riders and conditions. Whether you’re a weekend warrior racer that’s after speed, or prefer exploring with friends and carrying gear, or you eventually want to go into the waves and surf, the Generation does it all. It packs so much value and offers a lot of progression in one board, meaning you can choose to do racing, touring or surfing as your skill level progresses.
The narrow nose makes it fast and efficient, while the parallel outline gives you solid stability and comfort, moving to a narrower tail which is easy to turn and manoeuvre in the waves. The 14’0” models are the preferred option if you want faster top speeds for racing and paddling longer distances when touring, while the 12’6” remains more manoeuvrable and is easier and faster to turn in the surf.
The Generation also has accessories like bungee tie downs to secure touring equipment and a carry handle for easy carrying.
What size GENERATION is right for me?
Choose your length: If you want the fastest option then choose the 14’0” models. The longer length offers the fastest glide and best efficiency, allowing you to paddle for longer distances with more speed than the 12’6”. The 14’0” is the best option for those more focused at cruising, touring and racing. The 12’6” being shorter remains the more manoeuvrable option, easier and faster to turn in the surf and nimble for lighter riders. If you’re focused on surfing, have limited storage and want a board that’s easier to transport, then go with the 12’6”.
Choose your width: Available in 3 widths; the 30” wide is the most stable option for heavier riders and those that want the most forgiveness in choppier conditions. The 28” width is the best combination of speed and stability, offering the best of both worlds. The 26” is more targeted at speed and efficiency, suited for lighter riders and high skilled riders that choose speed over stability.
12’6” x 28” – The fastest and most efficient 12’6” model, designed for lighter riders up to 90kg.
12’6” x 28” – The original favourite and the best selling model, suited to riders up to 100kg.
12’6” x 30” – As the widest 12’6”, this offers the best stability and manoeuvrability on and off the water, suitable for riders up to 110kg.
14’0” x 26” – The board that puts speed as the priority. Maximise glide with the 14’0” length, whilst also being able to compete in the 14’0” race class. The 26” width is most efficient for riders up to 100kg.
14’0” x 28” – The original size which combines speed and stability best, designed for riders up to 110kg.
14’0” x 30” – Maximise glide but have the most stable ride. The most forgiving and stable choice, particularly for riders up to 120kg.
